As you climb the road you can see the trees are starting to change their colors! Fall is close!

This is a deep canyon called Little Death Valley. It is all white rock with little water and appears to have no easy access in or out.

I took this from the road. It is very deep and almost straight down!

Continuing up the road ...

This is a grassy meadow looking towards Pine Mountain. It is one of a few meadows. There are lots of cedar trees on the hills and some pines near the creek. It is a beautiful drive. But a little rough in spots. Definitely not for a car!

Fall colors at the Ranger Station.

There are some Douglas Firs, which usually are only found in California, as well as other non-native trees. Apparently the Ranger who stayed here liked to see what would grow here!

Surprise! A growing Thriving Redwood Tree!

It is very peaceful and beautiful here. But I would not want to winter here!
